Piltai, the head of the priestly family of Moadiah during the time of Joiakim, the high priest.

Piltai was the head of the priestly family of Moadiah during the high priesthood of Joiakim in the early post-exilic period, listed among the heads of the priestly families in Nehemiah 12:17. These priestly family heads were the leaders of the twenty-four courses reestablished after the return from exile, maintaining the rotational system of priestly service originally organized by David. Piltai appears only in this single administrative register.
