Sapphira, along with her husband Ananias, lied to the apostles about the proceeds from a property sale and died as a result.

Sapphira was the wife of Ananias who, in collusion with her husband, sold property and secretly withheld part of the proceeds while pretending to donate the full amount to the Jerusalem community (Acts 5:1–11). When questioned separately by Peter, she confirmed her husband's deception and fell dead as he had, their deaths serving as a solemn warning to the early church about the gravity of deception before God.
