Sheal was one of the Israelite men who had married foreign wives during the exile and is listed in Ezra 10:29 among the sons of Bani who agreed to send away their foreign wives in compliance with Ezra's reform. His name appears only in this post-exilic register of those who dissolved mixed marriages.
