Stephanas was a believer from Corinth who, along with his household, was baptized by Paul and later visited Paul to provide support and encouragement.
Stephanas was the head of the first Christian household to be baptized in Achaia (Greece), whose family Paul baptized personally (1 Corinthians 1:16; 16:15). Paul commended him and his household for their devoted service to the saints and urged the Corinthian church to submit to such faithful leaders, noting that Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus had refreshed Paul's spirit by their visit (1 Corinthians 16:15–18).
