Old Testament

Temah was the ancestor of a family of temple servants who returned from the Babylonian exile.

Temah was the ancestor of a family of Nethinim (temple servants) who returned from Babylonian captivity as part of Zerubbabel's expedition (Ezra 2:53; Nehemiah 7:55). The Nethinim were dedicated workers assigned to assist the Levites in the service of the Jerusalem temple, performing menial tasks necessary for the maintenance of worship. Temah is known only as the founding figure of this restored post-exilic family.
