The spiritual equipment Paul describes in Ephesians 6:10-18 for standing against the devil's schemes. Each piece corresponds to a spiritual reality: the belt of truth (integrity), the breastplate of righteousness (right standing with God), the shoes of the gospel of peace (readiness to share), the shield of faith (trust in God's promises), the helmet of salvation (assurance of redemption), and the sword of the Spirit (God's Word). Paul draws on Isaiah's description of God as warrior (Isaiah 59:17) and applies it to believers. The armor is not human self-improvement but divine provision — believers put on what God supplies for spiritual battle.
