Служение милосердия

Practical care for those suffering physical, emotional, or material need, motivated by God's own compassion. The Hebrew word racham (womb-love) describes God's deep compassion for his people (Psalm 103:13). Jesus was 'moved with compassion' (splanchnizomai) and responded with healing (Matthew 14:14), feeding (Matthew 15:32), and teaching (Mark 6:34). James 2:15-17 insists that faith without compassionate action is dead. The parable of the good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37) defines the neighbor as anyone in need, regardless of social boundaries. Matthew 25:35-40 identifies serving the hungry, thirsty, stranger, naked, sick, and imprisoned as serving Christ himself.
