The sending of believers across cultural and geographic boundaries to spread the gospel and establish churches. The Bible is fundamentally a missions story — from God's promise to bless all nations through Abraham (Genesis 12:3) to the vision of every tribe and tongue worshipping the Lamb (Revelation 7:9). The church at Antioch commissioned Paul and Barnabas as the first missionaries (Acts 13:1-3). Paul's three missionary journeys (Acts 13-20) established churches across the Roman Empire. Jesus' prayer encompasses missions: 'As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world' (John 17:18). Missions express God's heart for every people group.
