'Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him' — Paul loosely cites Isaiah 64:4 (and possibly 65:17) to describe the eschatological mystery that transcends human sensory and imaginative capacity. The immediately following verse 10 ('But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit') is equally important: the verse is not about unknowability but about the Spirit's exclusive access to and transmission of the deep things of God.
