Henadad

Old Testament

Henadad was a Levite whose descendants helped rebuild the temple and signed the covenant during Nehemiah's time.

Henadad was a Levite whose sons—Bavvai and Binnui—participated in the repair of Jerusalem's walls under Nehemiah (Nehemiah 3:18, 24) and whose family also sealed the covenant renewal document (Nehemiah 10:9). He is mentioned in Ezra 3:9 as a Levite who helped oversee the workmen laying the foundation of the Second Temple under Zerubbabel. Henadad's family thus spans the entire post-exilic restoration effort, from the initial temple foundations under Zerubbabel to the walls and covenant renewal under Nehemiah.
