Old Testament

Tidal, king of Goiim, was one of the four kings allied with Chedorlaomer in the battle against the five kings of the plain.

Tidal, identified as 'king of Goiim' (nations or peoples), was one of the four kings allied with Chedorlaomer in the coalition that defeated the five kings of the cities of the plain and carried off Lot among the captives (Genesis 14:1–12). Abraham mounted a successful rescue mission to retrieve Lot and the other prisoners. Tidal's identity has been the subject of scholarly debate, with some proposing connections to Hittite or northern Mesopotamian rulers, though no definitive extrabiblical identification has been established.
