Beast of Revelation

The sea beast of Revelation 13:1-10 — a terrifying figure with ten horns and seven heads who receives authority from the dragon (Satan). The beast 'was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation' (13:7) and demands worship. It speaks blasphemies and wages war against God's people. Drawing on Daniel 7's vision of four beasts, Revelation's beast represents imperial power opposed to God — historically associated with Rome but prophetically pointing to a final world system that persecutes believers. The beast is ultimately captured and 'thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur' (Revelation 19:20). Its doom is certain.
