Curse of the Law
The condemnation that falls on those who fail to obey the law perfectly. Galatians 3:10 warns, 'For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law."' Deuteronomy 27:26 pronounced this curse originally. The law's perfect standard exposes universal human failure (Romans 3:23). But Galatians 3:13 declares the liberating truth: 'Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole."' Christ absorbed the curse on the cross so believers might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
