Bondage

20 ayet

Captivity and enslavement, both physical and spiritual, from which God delivers. Israel's bondage in Egypt (Exodus 1-12) is the archetypal captivity narrative. The Babylonian exile was another form of national bondage (2 Kings 25). Romans 6:6 speaks of being 'slaves to sin' before Christ. Galatians 4:3 describes pre-conversion life as bondage 'under the elemental spiritual forces of the world.' Romans 8:15 contrasts: 'The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again.' Hebrews 2:15 says Jesus freed 'those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.' The gospel is fundamentally a liberation message.
