Comfort

20 ayet

Consolation and encouragement from God in times of distress. Second Corinthians 1:3-4 calls God 'the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.' Isaiah 40:1 opens with, 'Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.' Psalm 23:4 testifies, 'Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.' Jesus promised the Holy Spirit as the Comforter (Paraclete, John 14:16). Revelation 21:4 anticipates ultimate comfort: God 'will wipe every tear from their eyes.' Comfort in Scripture is not escape from suffering but presence within it.
