Feast Days
Annual festivals prescribed by God for Israel, each commemorating an aspect of his redemptive work. Leviticus 23 outlines seven feasts: Passover (deliverance from Egypt), Unleavened Bread (purging sin), Firstfruits (resurrection hope), Weeks/Pentecost (harvest and Spirit), Trumpets (awakening), Day of Atonement (cleansing), and Tabernacles/Booths (God dwelling among his people). Christians see these feasts fulfilled in Christ: Passover in the cross, Firstfruits in the resurrection, Pentecost in the Spirit's outpouring. The fall feasts (Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles) are widely seen as pointing to Christ's second coming and the new creation.
