Open-handed giving that reflects God's own lavish grace. Second Corinthians 9:6-7 teaches, 'Whoever sows generously will also reap generously... God loves a cheerful giver.' Proverbs 11:25 promises, 'A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.' The Macedonian churches gave 'beyond their ability' despite 'extreme poverty' (2 Corinthians 8:1-5). The early church shared possessions so 'there were no needy persons among them' (Acts 4:34). God himself is the model of generosity: 'He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all — how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?' (Romans 8:32).
