The restoration of broken relationships, both between God and humanity and between people. Second Corinthians 5:18-19 declares, 'God reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them.' Romans 5:10 explains, 'While we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son.' Ephesians 2:14-16 celebrates Christ breaking down the 'dividing wall of hostility' between Jew and Gentile. Reconciliation is both a gift received and a mission extended — believers are called to be 'ambassadors' of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:20).
