Old Testament

Harim was the name of a priestly division during King David's reign.

Harim was the head of the third priestly division established by David for rotation in temple service (1 Chronicles 24:8). His priestly family is also mentioned among those who returned from Babylonian exile (Ezra 2:39; Nehemiah 7:42), and members of his family appear in the lists of those who had taken foreign wives (Ezra 10:21) and those who sealed the covenant under Nehemiah (Nehemiah 10:5). The repeated appearance of this priestly family across these post-exilic documents reflects its size and importance in the restoration community.
