摩西

Exodus & Wilderness Tribe of Levi · H4872
Old Testament

Moses was a prophet whom God used to lead Israel out of slavery in Egypt and give them the law.

Moses is the supreme prophet and lawgiver of the Hebrew Bible, the central figure of the Exodus narrative, and revered across Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Born to a Levite family during the Egyptian enslavement of the Israelites, he was hidden in a basket on the Nile and rescued by Pharaoh's daughter (Exodus 2:1–10). After fleeing Egypt for Midian, he encountered God in the burning bush and was commissioned to lead Israel out of slavery (Exodus 3). Through ten plagues, the Passover, and the parting of the Red Sea, he led the Israelites out of Egypt; at Mount Sinai he received the Torah, including the Ten Commandments. He guided Israel through forty years of wilderness wandering but died on Mount Nebo, within sight of the Promised Land he was not permitted to enter (Deuteronomy 34).
