Oholah was a symbolic name given to Samaria, representing the northern kingdom of Israel in Ezekiel's prophecy.
Oholah was the allegorical name given to Samaria—representing the northern kingdom of Israel—in Ezekiel's extended parable of the two adulterous sisters (Ezekiel 23). Her name means 'her own tent,' possibly referring to the unauthorized sanctuaries Israel maintained outside Jerusalem. In the allegory, Oholah played the harlot with the Assyrians, her lovers, and was consequently given into the hands of the Assyrians who stripped her and killed her—a theological interpretation of the Assyrian destruction of the northern kingdom in 722 BC.
