An expression of praise and glory to God, often in a formulaic pattern found throughout Scripture. Romans 11:36 exclaims, 'For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever!' Jude 1:25 offers, 'To the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord.' The psalms overflow with doxological language (Psalm 150). In Revelation, heavenly beings perpetually declare God's worth (Revelation 4:8-11). Doxology reminds believers that all theology should ultimately lead to worship — the knowledge of God prompting praise of God.
