The foundational stone that determines the alignment of an entire building, applied to Christ. Isaiah 28:16 prophesied, 'See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation.' Psalm 118:22 adds, 'The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.' Jesus quoted this verse about himself (Matthew 21:42). Peter applied it at Pentecost (Acts 4:11) and in his epistle: 'As you come to him, the living Stone — rejected by humans but chosen by God... you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house' (1 Peter 2:4-5). Ephesians 2:20 identifies Christ Jesus as the cornerstone of God's household.
