विश्वास और संदेह

Aquatic creatures that feature prominently in both Old and New Testament narratives. God created sea creatures on the fifth day (Genesis 1:20-21). Jonah was swallowed by a great fish (Jonah 1:17). Jesus multiplied loaves and fish to feed thousands (Matthew 14:17-21, 15:34-38). He called fishermen as disciples and promised to make them 'fishers of men' (Matthew 4:19). The risen Christ prepared a breakfast of fish for his disciples (John 21:9-13). The miraculous catch of fish symbolized the abundant harvest of the gospel mission (Luke 5:1-11, John 21:1-14). The fish symbol (ichthys) became an early Christian identifier, as the Greek word forms an acronym for 'Jesus Christ, God's Son, Savior.'
