मसीही नैतिकता
An intense desire to protect what is rightfully one's own, or a sinful resentment of others' advantages. God describes himself as 'jealous' (Exodus 20:5, 34:14) — zealously guarding the exclusive devotion that belongs to him. This divine jealousy is righteous, like a spouse's jealousy over their partner's fidelity. Human jealousy, however, is often sinful: Cain's jealousy led to murder (Genesis 4:5-8), Saul's jealousy of David consumed him (1 Samuel 18:8-9), and the chief priests handed Jesus over 'out of self-interest' (Mark 15:10). Galatians 5:20 lists jealousy among the 'works of the flesh.' James 3:16 warns that 'where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder.'
