The growth and spread of God's reign throughout the world, from a small beginning to universal scope. Jesus taught that the kingdom of God is like a mustard seed — the smallest of seeds that grows into the largest garden plant (Matthew 13:31-32). Like leaven in dough, the kingdom permeates every area of life (Matthew 13:33). Daniel 2:35 prophesied a stone that 'became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth.' Isaiah 9:7 promises, 'Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.' Acts traces the kingdom's expansion from Jerusalem to Rome. The kingdom advances through proclamation, demonstration, and the transformed lives of citizens who live under God's rule.
