God's work of bringing back what was lost, broken, or destroyed. Joel 2:25 promises, 'I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten.' Acts 3:21 speaks of 'the time for God to restore everything.' Psalm 51:12 prays, 'Restore to me the joy of your salvation.' God restored Job's fortunes twofold (Job 42:10). The return from exile was a national restoration (Ezra 1-6). Jesus restored sight to the blind (Mark 10:46-52), health to the sick (Luke 8:43-48), and life to the dead (John 11:43-44). Peter was restored after his denial (John 21:15-17). The ultimate restoration is the new heaven and new earth (Revelation 21:1-5).
