팔복 (복 있는 자)
The eight declarations of blessedness that open the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:3-12), overturning worldly values with kingdom realities. The poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, those hungering for righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, peacemakers, and the persecuted are all pronounced 'blessed' (makarios). Luke 6:20-26 adds corresponding 'woes' against the rich, well-fed, laughing, and praised. The Beatitudes describe not entry requirements but the character of kingdom citizens transformed by grace. They depict a counter-cultural community where weakness is strength, grief leads to comfort, and persecution results in great reward.
