The great dragon described in Revelation 12:3-9, explicitly identified as 'that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray' (12:9). The dragon has seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. He sweeps a third of the stars from the sky (12:4), pursues the woman (12:13-16), and wages war against her offspring (12:17). Michael and his angels cast the dragon out of heaven (12:7-9). The dragon empowers the beast (13:2) and is ultimately bound for a thousand years (20:2-3) before being thrown into the lake of fire forever (20:10). The dragon represents Satan's cosmic opposition to God and his people throughout history.
