욥과 고난
The book of Job addresses the mystery of innocent suffering through the story of a righteous man who lost everything. Job's friends argued that suffering indicates hidden sin (Job 4-5, 8, 11), but God rejected their theology (42:7-8). Job demanded answers from God, who responded not with explanations but with a revelation of his sovereign majesty and wisdom (chapters 38-41). Job's response: 'My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you' (42:5). The book resists simplistic answers to suffering while affirming God's sovereignty, justice, and ultimate goodness. James 5:11 celebrates 'the perseverance of Job' and 'what the Lord finally brought about.'
