Psalm 24:3-4 asks who may ascend the Lord's hill — 'The one who has clean hands and a pure heart.' Psalm 51:10 prays, 'Create in me a pure heart, O God.' First Timothy 4:12 instructs, 'Set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.' Titus 1:15 warns, 'To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure.' Purity involves not merely avoiding evil but actively pursuing holiness.
