This prophetic vision of universal worship offered to God in every place and nation has been a key proof-text in Christian missionary theology and in discussions of the Eucharist: the Church Fathers (Irenaeus, Justin Martyr) applied it to the Lord's Supper offered throughout the world. The verse anticipates Revelation 15:4's 'all nations shall come and worship before thee' and Zephaniah 2:11's 'every one from his place shall worship him.' It grounds Christian universalism in Old Testament promise rather than New Testament innovation.
