'For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen.' This prophetic vision of universal worship offered to God in every place and nation has been a key proof-text in Christian missionary theology and in discussions of the Eucharist: the Church Fathers (Irenaeus, Justin Martyr) applied it to the Lord's Supper offered throughout the world.
