誓約

A solemn declaration invoking God as witness to the truthfulness of a statement or the binding nature of a promise. God himself swore oaths to Abraham (Genesis 22:16-17, Hebrews 6:13-17) and to David (Psalm 89:3-4). The Mosaic law regulated oaths (Leviticus 19:12, Numbers 30:2). Jesus cautioned against casual oath-taking: 'All you need to say is simply "Yes" or "No"; anything beyond this comes from the evil one' (Matthew 5:37). Hebrews 6:16 notes that 'people swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument.' Oaths underscore the gravity of truth and covenant commitment.
