Violent weather events that display God's power and test human faith. God appeared in a storm to Job (Job 38:1). Jonah's storm was a divine intervention (Jonah 1:4). Jesus calmed a storm with a word (Mark 4:39), and the disciples marveled, 'Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!' (4:41). Paul survived a shipwreck storm (Acts 27). Nahum 1:3 declares, 'His way is in the whirlwind and the storm.' Psalm 29 celebrates God's voice in the thunderstorm. Jesus used storms metaphorically: the wise person builds on rock so that when storms come, the house stands (Matthew 7:24-27). Storms test the foundations of faith.
