The address 'thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre' presents the king of a royal wedding-psalm with the divine title 'God' (Elohim), a usage so striking that Hebrews 1:8-9 quotes it as a direct address of the Father to the Son — making it one of the New Testament's strongest Christological appropriations of the Psalter.
